About this Ho Etsu Event

Each year we play two events at the beautiful Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford, Illinois. If you’ve never visited the gardens, it’s worth the drive to Rockford to find a stunning example of a Japanese garden right here in the Midwest.

In spring we participate at the garden’s Opening Ceremony, an all-day affair with food, entertainment, and tours. In the summer, we play the weekend-long Summer Festival. Artisans and entertainers fly in from Japan for this event to contribute to the festivities.

I had the opportunity to experience your performance at this year’s Spring Opening Celebration. I looked forward with eager anticipation to the power, stimulation, enthusiasm and excitement that taiko can bring to the audience. You did NOT disappoint. I look forward to seeing you again during the Summer Festival and introducing taiko to more people in my circle of friends. KUDOS!
