Join us for Japanese folk dance and taiko! Bon Odori is one of the most widely celebrated and colorful of the Buddhist observances. On a summer evening, under traditional lanterns, temple members and friends (and the general public is welcome) gather to show appreciation to past loved ones through music and dance. Visit MBT’s Bon Odori page to learn the history of this event which is celebrated by Buddhists around the world.
Ho Etsu members will participate in Obon to play the large taiko in the middle of the dancers (this is not a full taiko performance) everyone is welcome to dance.
